This section describes how to configure and set up the “MVT + WTO Framework” within your Ensighten Manage account to power your test and conversion requests.
The "MVT + WTO Framework" contains all the code to provision your requests and run Optimization Campaigns delivered by Webtrends Optimize deployed through Ensighten Manage. If your account does not already contain this custom deployment, request it from your Account Manager or open a support ticket by sending an email to "email@example.com" requesting that the "MVT + WTO Framework" custom deployment be added to your account. You will not need to copy and past the code of your "wt_capi.js" file into Ensighten Manage, but you will need to download the "wt_capi.js" file for your test and host it on a production server that you can reference.
QA Testing Your MVT + WTO Optimization Framework
Now that you have configured the "MVT + WTO Framework" for your account, it is ready to launch in your "Global Deployment" and have Webtrends Optimize test deployments set to be dependent on it. However, if you've set up your "Data Layer" and particularly if you have already created a "Global Data Layer", be sure to set your "MVT + WTO Framework" custom deployment dependent on your "Global Data Layer" custom deployment so that you can leverage your global website data stored in your "Data Layer" with WTO for enhanced targeting, segmentation, personalization, and profiling.
The "MVT + WTO Framework" powers the entire MVT engine and test request provisioning for your site and needs to run at the top of your page in your "Global Deployment". While you can QA the delivery of the this framework directly by confirming that it does indeed become delivered into your site pages, by itself, it does nothing. For best practice we recommend to set up at least one test request to be delivered and set to be dependent on this framework and then launched in addition. That way, as you navigate to and load the page on your site where this test request should be deployed and confirm that the actual integration to WTO is working as expected.
Steps to QA Testing Your MVT + WTO Framework
Here are the chain of QA steps that you might find useful to start with, in order to properly QA or triage your implementation once it has been deployed:
2. Next launch the Ensighten Visual Tagger and click on the "Inspector" button or the toolkit icon at the bottom. From there, click on "Deployment Inspector" and check to see if any Ensighten-caught errors are displayed. If so, click the error to see the message and correct your code accordingly. If not, continue.
4. And finally you can now reload your page with "?_wt.debug=vvv" in the URL and your test requests and other related information about your implementation will be displayed in a browser popup. If not, confirm that your code has deployed and that you do not have popups set to be blocked.
Once you have resolved your deployment issues and have confirmed that your test request has been sent and a response returned into your page via the debugging popup without errors listed, your "MVT + WTO Framework" is now ready to begin optimization testing as you see fit.
